Shadow Poetry

Convincing M(you)self

I don’t need a good excuse

I exist

Therefore I have the right to be

#NationalHaikuPoetryDay

Happy National Haiku Poetry Day!

I swear there are fifteen different national holidays every single day. I’m on the fence about this. When every day is multiple National holidays, it kind of feels like it never really is a holiday. BUT, on the other hand, there’s the rare national holiday that I totally feel like celebrating (and, you know, happen to hear about in the first place). So I do like it. It allows us to each pick the ones we like and have fun with those.

I’m a conflicted individual.

This holiday is always on April 17th.

A haiku is a form of Japanese poetry.

It’s typically non rhyming and uses the elements of nature, language that captures emotions or memories, and/or beauty. Its flowing and very much poetic. It’s made of three lines. Each line has a specific amount of syllables. 5, 7, 5.

I had no clue this holiday existed.

Funny enough, last night I thought of a haiku before falling asleep.

It was the first time

Wind wiped it away again

It’s not the first try

Shadow Poetry

necRomance Me

All my secrets
Covered in lies
Half truths you know
The Departed rise

Hunted now – make their lies true
Never enough for any of you

Truth rages
Whispers haunt
Inside it screams
Thoughts taunt

Bleed bruises gone ‘til I can’t stand the sane
I’ll bleed them dry to destroy my pain

Shadows of sun
And crimson spires
More will come
Deleterious desires

Disregard their wailing, desperate screams
As their nails scrape and scratch the seams

If you’ll listen
The daemon know
Ignore their accusations
Don’t make me go

Here in the darkness they know me well
Quiet now; let the contusion swell

My lips deceive
The Wronged stalk
Stay tonight
Outline you in chalk

Close your eyes and pretend you don’t want this
It won’t’ burn for long; my only promise

Never mind the corpses
Kiss away the pain
Hold me tight
So the blood can drain

Murmers it for your soul in design
Whatever you do, they purr, don’t sign

Porcelain skin
Eyes keep forever
Putrid and still
Don’t want their never

But when the Gray lashes and cuts you quite deep
With needle and thread I’ll make sure you keep

Stitch me together
A monster they say
Watch me eat poison
Sit with crown on display

Let all else die, I beckon you to join me
Choose my embrace and I’ll erase your agony

On your knees now
Sink your teeth in
Breathless, take my hand
Let the inevitable begin

Shadow Poetry

the Valley

Living in Shadows

Inbetween I thrive

Among their scrawl of shades

I am broken glass

(They’ll not dirty their hands)

Static

Not in your Ivory World of Distortions

Not past the Obsidian Veil

Inbetween Silence and Truth

Hope and the Destruction

The odd swelling of hearts long ago shattered and counted

among the Lost

I’m not breathing

Can you see past the blood?

The lies…

Voices call

Tears fall

Search to be

But cannot see

This valley of Bled Dreams

Tainted through waves of panic

My fragile wings flutter

The Broken understand

Only the strange know

And this pain

Free me

And the wind whispers

But I am alone

Among phantasm

The Black Shade Living in Death’s plane where only a few reside

Sow into My Skin

Learn to breathe again
